Bots - June 2023 Update

As of June 2023, you may notice a sudden but temporary increase in the number of bots in PvP matches.

When we release a major app update it's not always possible for players on the old version of the app to matchmake with players on the new version. This means that there are fewer human opponents to matchmake with and bots have to fill in the shortfall so that everyone can continue to play.

As players move to the new version of the app the number of bots in matches will gradually decrease for players with the app update and increase for players who have not yet updated. It normally takes 3-4 days for all players to update their app to the new version. At that point all players are in a single matchmaking pool once more and bot levels return to normal.

Regardless, we are always willing to listen and act on your feedback and we notice a decrease in the number of reports about this topic, as more and more players are playing on the new server. Adjusting the bots to the players’ skill level is a cooperative effort and we rely on you to create a better experience.
